About Us

Hemp Makes Scents was born from my love (maybe slight addiction) for candles and wax melts. However, I noticed that this industry lacked a lot of transparency about how natural and safe these products really were, even when touted as “natural.” Being someone who values my health, I always felt a little concerned anytime I lit a candle or used some wax melts. Not wanting to completely give up on aromatherapy and having a lovely smelling house, I then decided to look into switching to essential oil diffusers. The more I researched this, I noticed a lot of concerns with diffusing oils around pets. As a dog mom to an adorable Shiba Inu, this option was also out. Feeling slightly defeated, I decided to take it upon myself to create a purely natural, pet-safe product. I then decided I wanted to take this product one step further and enhance it with hemp oil, thus creating all-natural hemp and essential oil-infused soy wax melts.

Here at Hemp Makes Scents, we value crafting luxury aromatherapy products that you can feel safe using. Our products do not contain any harmful ingredients such as phthalates, paraffins, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrance oils. 

To further enhance the aromatherapy effects, we infuse each wax melt with hemp oil. Studies show that hemp oil can help with stress, anxiety and restlessness. It is also rich in anti-aging properties when the melted wax is applied to the skin as a nourishing massage oil. With all these benefits it just “makes scents” to use hemp.

Hemp Makes Scents also strives to be an eco-friendly company. Instead of using the standard plastic clamshell containers to hold our wax melts, we chose biodegradable packaging that can be recycled or composted. Additionally, all our materials are sustainably sourced.
